Truth Be Told Blog with Lucinda Bassett

Ho Ho Holy crap… why do we think too much this time of the year??

Because it’s the holidays! So much to think about, so much to feel, so much to do, so much to question ourselves about!

Well I for one, am going to do it differently this year. Maybe it’s my age or the time in my life, but I am going to do things way more low key and lower all my expectations of everything and everyone. I want to enjoy the holidays and my life moments, everyday. After all,  I am so lucky to just be here to enjoy it.

Sounds selfish? Not really. Sounds sane.

At this age, the last thing I want to do is be someone’s mother who needs to be entertained, or frankly be entertaining. Things are changing in my life, my kids are older, more independent and some won’t even be here for Christmas! I need to be okay with not being so “needed,”  and so needy. Lol. I need to be okay if the holidays are “different”.   I need be okay with time alone for part of the holiday… even traveling alone. Wow that is a scary one for me. But off I go for adventure and the unknown.

That said, I am going to keep this blog short, for I am off skiing. Ha yes, off skiing just days before Christmas… I left. But hey my tree is up 😉 Here’s a pic of the view:

So, I’ve determined that this week I am going to:

I hope whoever and wherever you are in this week before Christmas that you are healthy, happy, and enjoying your life. Take things one day at a time and wallow in the beauty of Christmas. It is all around you.

Just look…

Till Next time..
