Truth Be Told With Lucinda Bassett- The Life Priorities Pie

In order to pinpoint areas of your life that need more attention, it is imperative to look more closely at what screams out as lacking. You probably already know which areas they are, but in order to achieve balance, let’s do the following “slices of life” exercise.
Below is an illustration of the Life Priorities Pie. There is only so much time in your day and in your life, as there is only so much pie on the pie platter. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. How do you want to divide up your life, your pie, so you can get the most out of it?

Your Life Priorities Pie is divided into eight “slices of life” categories for you to assess. Each slice has an internal rating of 1 to 10 for you to color in.

1. Indicates that you spend very little or no time.

10. Indicates that you spend a great deal of time in this area of your life.

Review the slices and color them in appropriately, according to how much time you spend in each, beginning at the center of the pie and coloring out toward the edge. Notice how much time you spend in each area.

Now, as you look at your complete pie, which of these pieces are the least colored in? These are clearly the areas of your life that are neglected, possibly causing you to feel off balance. Assessing the various “slice of life” categories, check the specific areas that you want to work on.
